Job Description:

Design electronic components, software, products or systems for commercial, industrial, medical, military, or scientific applications. Provide automated design process consulting and engineering services: to create 3D models and templates using CATIA V5, write VBA programs and macro for automated design process, create automated design process specifications, based on specifications, create 3D models and write programs, and work closely with project sponsors at their site. Provide technical support and instruction to staff or customers regarding equipment standards, assisting with specific, difficult in-service engineering. Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks. Analyze system requirements, capacity, cost and customer needs to determine feasibility of project and develop system plan. Confer with engineers, customers, vendors or others to discuss existing and potential engineering projects or products. Review and evaluate work of others, inside and outside the organization, to ensure effectiveness, technical adequacy and compatibility in the resolution of complex engineering problems. Determine material and equipment needs and order supplies. Inspect electronic equipment instruments, products, and systems to ensure conformance; to specifications, safety standards, and applicable codes and regulations. Evaluate operational systems, prototypes and proposals and recommend repair or design modifications, based on factors such as environment regulations. Prepare documentation containing information such as confidential descriptions and specifications of proprietary hardware and software, product development and introduction schedules, produce costs, and information about product performance weaknesses. Facilitate client education: educate clients about new processes, generate ideas for effective training system and manuals, create specifications for educational materials and develop educational materials including texts and manuals. Provide team leadership: complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning team members, following up on work results, maintain team staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training employees, planning, monitoring, appraising job results, and contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends. Study new and existing legislation to ensure compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements. Ensure operation of equipment by establishing preventive maintenance requirements and service contracts, maintaining equipment inventories, evaluating new equipment and techniques. Maintain professional and technical knowledge of attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies. Travel within the U.S. for long periods of time based on assigned system development projects.

Requirements:           B.S. in Computer Information System, Electronics Engineering or equivalent with 5 years of post bachelor progressive experience in job offered or related field. BoM development experience. Experience in an overall skills in tooling, including injection molding, and stamping. Expert knowledge in CATIA V5. Travel within the U.S. for long periods of time based on assigned system development projects.
